With so many of us being allergic or sensitive to the harsh ingredients found in beauty products these days. Having a mine of information and recipes is a must. From the very first chapter of Homemade skin and body care, it gives you a wealth of recipes and practical information on how to make , skin rubs, bath fiz bombs and my favourite, rosemary hair shampoo! A very practical guide, easy to follow and easily explained recipes, most of the products you have in your larder at home. Or with a short trip to your local health store you will find these recipes come to life very quickly indeed. For example... I have tried this one... And it's a winner! Balancing Herb and Vinegar Rinse To restore your pH balance and remove residue build-up in your hair, try this interchangeable herbal recipe
. Ingredients: • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar • 2 cups herbal infusion (to make an infusion bring 2 cups water to a boil, remove from heat and pour over herbs. Steep for 15-20 minutes and let cool) Herbs to use: For dark hair - parsley To darken graying hair - sage For bringing out highlights in lighter-colored hair - chamomile Directions: Choose the herb of choice according to your hair color. After the infusion has cooled, add it to the apple cider vinegar. After shampooing, massage about a ½ cup or more of the mixture into your hair, being sure to apply it from the roots to the ends. May be rinsed with warm water followed by a cool rinse, or simply left on. The smell of vinegar will disappear once your hair is dry. Recommended as a once per week treatment.
